Our Heritage & Craft

Born in the Caribbean.
Rooted in African Soil.

Mandu Gourmet was founded on a simple conviction: Africa’s agricultural wealth should feed the continent with pride, uncompromising flavour, and equitable value for every farmer in the chain.

By uniting ancestral Afro-Caribbean recipes from Haiti with the fertile produce of Kenyan smallholder farms, we craft premium, clean-label condiments that elevate everyday meals into sensory journeys.

"Africa’s soil yields the most extraordinary flavours on earth. For too long, the region has imported its condiments. We are changing that — jar by jar, harvest by harvest."

The Mandu Way

A Bridge Across Two Worlds

Every jar is an intersection of culinary artistry, rigorous food science, and ethical smallholder agriculture.

Ancestral Afro-Caribbean Soul

Our recipes inherit centuries of Caribbean culinary creativity — slow-cooked pepper sauces, aromatic Jerk seasonings, and sun-kissed tropical jams born from resilience and celebration.

Kenyan Soil & Smallholder Terroir

We source directly from Kenyan highlands, partnering with smallholder farmers in Kiambu County — over 50% of whom are women — ensuring farm-fresh crops and equitable grower earnings.

Scientific Validation & FTIC

Formulated in collaboration with the Food Technology & Innovation Centre (FTIC) at the University of Nairobi, ensuring 100% clean-label purity, natural shelf-life stability, and KEBS standard compliance.
